The Casio story began in 1946 in post-war Japan when Tadao Kashio, an engineer specializing in fabrication technology, founded Kashio Seisakujo. What started as a small venture would eventually grow into one of the world's most recognized electronics brands.
Joined by his brothers who had expertise in electronics, the company's early success came from an unexpected product - the "yubiwa pipe," a finger ring that allowed smokers to smoke cigarettes down to the nub while keeping their hands free.
This initial success funded the brothers' true passion: creating innovative electronic devices that would make people's lives easier and more efficient. Little did they know that their vision would transform not just the calculator industry, but also revolutionize the way we tell time.
